Sophie Wilkinson at St Mary'sAfter 9 months we mange to get Sophie back to St Mary's to see her beloved team. Whilst the result wasn't too hot [we lost 2 - 1] the atmosphere seemed to bring out the best in Sophie. She loved every minute of it!

It was like a well oiled machine in full operation to get her to St Mary's. Both myself and Ali had to be trained to give Sophie her vital drugs. The nurse [Jo a massive footie fan] and senior physio Gina [not so massive football fan] had planned it extensively and the Southampton team had a room ready for Sophie, St Johns ambulance were aware and on standby.

The biggest smile from Sophie came when the goal was scored as the stadium erupted. Whats more outstanding is her ability to stay awake the whole day and only crashed out for 2 whole days when her head hit the pillow back at Bath later that evening!

After the match we took Sophie into reception to meet her stars, and David McGoldrick came out to see her with his family as did Lee Holmes and Andrew Surman. The manager then came out and seemed very stuck for words...

We would like to pass our thanks to Michael Wilde, Jordan Sibley, Kelly Southwell and David Luker for making it all possible and run smoothly and welcome Sophie back into the club.
